The Big Come Up

This past Sunday, hundreds of celebrities gathered in the Staples Center in Los Angeles to celebrate the 53rd annual Grammy Awards. Notable musicians in attendance included The Black Keys, comprised of Akron's own Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney. It was the duo's first time at the Grammy's, but they were nominated for four separate awards! Much to Akron's satisfaction, the band went home with two of the four- a notable accomplishment. In the pre-televised portion of the Grammy's, they were awarded Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Performance by a a Duo or Group with Vocals for their song, "Tighten Up". On top of that, Carney's brother, Michael, won a Grammy for Best Recording Package for the band's latest album, "Brothers". Being a fan from the 330 and having seen The Black Keys play live, I believe they definitely deserved to be acknowledged for their talent and hard work.

Lindsay Low-hand

It’s nothing new seeing Lindsay Lohan in the news for getting herself in trouble. The sweet little girl from The Parent Trap has now been to rehab five times and was just released from her last session one month ago. As far as we know, since she’s been out she has been doing well and trying to get her life back on track. Although, that may have ended this past week. Lindsay was spotted wearing a $2500 one of a kind necklace that was reported stolen on January 22. She denies this accusation and says her stylist gave it to her to wear. The LAPD has filed a service warrant but, in their research found that “prior to the warrant, the necklace was returned.” The store Kamofie & Company has given the LAPD a surveillance video of Lindsay in their store the day the necklace disappeared. This isn’t the first time she has been accused of stealing, but the last few times have been overlooked and unpunished. This time, it is being investigated and if found guilty, she will be going to jail. No more rehab visits or second chances.
